The Health Ministry in Gaza has reported that a large number of people have been killed and wounded as a result of intense Israeli bombardment in the area. The Israeli military has been conducting attacks across the Gaza Strip through air, land, and sea, resulting in the deaths of over 200 people and spreading fear among the displaced population. The Ministry of Health stated that many children and women are among the casualties being brought to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, with medical teams working tirelessly to save lives with limited resources.

Multiple areas in Gaza City, Deir el-Balah, Nuseirat, and homes near Rafah have been hit by numerous air raids, causing significant destruction and loss of life. The Gaza Government Media Office reported that 210 people had been killed in the attacks on Nuseirat and central Gaza. The situation in the overwhelmed hospitals is chaotic, with injured people being treated on the ground due to a lack of resources and infrastructure damage from the ongoing attacks.

Dr. Tanya Haj-Hassan from Doctors Without Borders described Al-Aqsa Hospital as a “complete bloodbath”, comparing it to a slaughterhouse. She highlighted the overwhelming number of patients with severe injuries, including children with limbs blown off. The Israeli military claimed they were targeting terrorist infrastructure in the Nuseirat area and later announced that they had rescued four captives during an operation in the same area, stating that the captives were in good medical condition.

In another tragic incident, at least six Palestinians from one family were killed in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza after their home was shelled by Israeli forces. Witnesses reported entire residential blocks being destroyed in southern areas of Gaza City and gunships targeting the area near the fishing port. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called for an emergency UN Security Council session to address what he referred to as a “bloody massacre” carried out by Israeli forces.

The Israeli military’s campaign in Gaza escalated after an attack on a UN-run school in the Nuseirat refugee camp, where 40 people were killed. The UN agency for Palestinian refugees condemned the attack, stating that the school turned shelter was targeted without warning, and those responsible must be held accountable. Hamas accused the Israeli military of providing false information about the 17 terrorists killed in the attack, claiming that some of the individuals are still alive. The situation in Gaza remains tense and the death toll continues to rise as the conflict shows no signs of abating.
