Lord Ivar Mountbatten, a member of the extended British Royal family, is set to appear on the third season of the US reality show The Traitors. The show, hosted by actor Alan Cumming, features celebrities including Lord Ivar, who is known as the first openly gay royal. Lord Mountbatten has previously appeared on reality television, including ITV productions Keeping Up with the Aristocrats and The Queen and her Cousins.

Lord Ivar, 61, is the second cousin of King Charles and a first cousin once removed of the late Prince Philip. He made headlines in 2018 when he married airline cabin services director James Coyle, becoming the first member of the extended royal family to have a same-sex marriage. Prior to his marriage to James, Lord Ivar was married to Lady Penny Mountbatten, with whom he shares three daughters. Despite their split, Lady Penny gave her blessing to Lord Ivar’s new relationship, and even gave him away at his second wedding.

Lord Ivar and James currently live together in Bridwell Park, Lord Mountbatten’s grade I listed home in Devon. The property, which has been put on the market for £5.5 million, is available to hire for events, including weddings. Lord Ivar and James have introduced various initiatives to cover the park’s overheads, including admission fees which were later scrapped due to lack of success. The couple continue to live at Bridwell Park and are open to finding an investor to join them in the property.

Lord Ivar’s upcoming appearance on The Traitors US is set to be an exciting addition to the show. The programme, which is filmed in Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, features a similar format to the BBC series The Traitors but with celebrities as contestants. Lord Mountbatten will be competing alongside other famous faces such as Britney Spears’ estranged husband Sam Asghari and Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval. With $250,000 up for grabs, the aim of the game is for the traitors to eliminate other contestants and emerge victorious. British viewers can catch the show on streaming service Peacock.

The third season of The Traitors US has attracted a diverse and star-studded cast, including RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bob the Drag Queen, The Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper, and Real Housewives franchise stars Dorinda Medley and Robyn Dixon. The show promises to be the most treacherous season yet, with contestants vying for the cash prize while navigating the challenges and betrayals of the game. Lord Ivar’s participation adds an intriguing royal twist to the celebrity lineup, and fans are eager to see how he fares on the show.
