3rd league: trainers gone, bosses soon gone – is the HFC sinking into chaos?

Now it is certain: André Meyer (39) is no longer a coach at Halleschen FC. On Tuesday at 11 a.m. he was informed of the leave of absence by President Jens Rauschenbach (52) and sports director Ralf Minge (62).

Shortly thereafter, the former HFC coach said goodbye to his support team and then to the team.

Meyer on BILD: “It’s proper that I say goodbye to the boys. I would have liked to have gone further. I am convinced that we would have made it together.”

But the results spoke against Meyer! After falling to the penultimate place in the 3rd division and the fan criticism after the 0:2 against Zwickau, Meyer’s sacking was only a matter of time.

Board member Jürgen Fox: “The table doesn’t lie. With all appreciation for André Meyer’s great commitment, the development in recent months and the performance of the team in the disappointing home defeat against Zwickau meant that we unanimously voted in favor of the separation.

The separation from sports director Minge was first announced for the end of March, and a little later Boss Rauchenbach announced his retirement. Now the coach is gone too – Halle is facing difficult times.

Because the head of sports search is stuck, Minge will create the list of candidates for Meyer’s successor. Until that is found, the head of the HFC youth performance center, Jens Kiefer (48), prepares the third division team for the next East duel in Dresden. He is assisted by assistant coaches Max Bergmann and Marian Unger.

It remains questionable whether the new sports director will be involved in the search for a coach. The group of candidates includes: Thomas Sobotzik (48, formerly Offenbach) and ex-professional Marcel Rozgonyi (47, technical director in Chemnitz).
