Munich/Bayreuth – The drunken drama about ex-lion captain Felix Weber (28) continues to make waves!

The current central defender of SpVgg Bayreuth attacked two police officers on Sunday evening at an ice hockey game in Bayreuth with three per thousand in the blood.

According to the police, he punched an officer in the upper body and grabbed another in the neck. The Bayreuth public prosecutor’s office is investigating resistance to law enforcement officials, and his association has suspended him.

Security chief Florian Meier (36, “Protect-M”) also sees partial responsibility for the escalation of violence among the police officers involved.

“On that day, I was head of operations for the security service in cooperation with the police. I didn’t see anything about a deliberate or targeted attack on the head or neck of the police officer, let alone a ‘choke’.”

Meier continues: “Basically, the emergency services at the games are absolutely competent and I don’t want to gloss over Felix’s behavior and condition in any way.”

In this case, the drunk Weber would have touched a young police officer just on the upper body shortly before the exit. “Then he grabbed Weber, pulled his head down and yelled at him not to get on his neck.”

The officer then insisted on putting handcuffs on the footballer.

Meier: “In summary, I would say that one or the other situation should have been dealt with more quietly and with less escalation.”
