Drama in Hamelin: A little girl fell to her death from this house

Hamelin – Many residents are sitting on the lawn with folding chairs, the smell of barbecues is wafting from the balconies, children are playing in the street. Hardly anything suggests that a terrible drama happened three days ago here in Hamelin’s “Schlicht” residential area “Kuckuck”.

It was the Friday before Pentecost when a small child climbed onto the windowsill on the third floor in one of the blocks of flats, unnoticed by the parents.

Suddenly screams. The toddler had fallen about seven meters out of the window and hit the pavement in front of the house.

According to BILD information, it should be the little daughter of a Romanian family.

Police, emergency doctor, rescue helicopter were quickly on site. The rescuers tried to revive the girl. Without success.

The police have started investigations into the exact background of the window fall. The officials are assuming a tragic accident. They won’t be able to provide more detailed information until later this week.
