Frankfurt – Breakfast time for our gastro column “Lecker schmecker”. Today in the “Dining Room”, Fahrgasse 15, Tue.-Thu. 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

We order: orange juice (4.50 euros), chocolate (4.20 euros), cappuccino (4.20 euros), Eggs Benedict with bacon (12 euros), halloumi & avocado (15 euros), ricotta pancakes (16 euros) .

FIRST IMPRESSION:

Jessi: “It looks like a shop for daughters and sons.”

Jörg: “Social media chic. You should ventilate.”

SERVICE:

Jessi: “Waiting 15 minutes for a table on Sunday is fine. Too bad we weren’t greeted. The blond waitress nails it again, very friendly.”

Jörg: “Did you notice the faces behind the counter? All corners of the mouth down.”

TASTE:

Jessi: “It looks great on the plates. My poached eggs are like wax and runny on the inside—right on point!”

Jörg: “The halloumi cheese is great, not too salty, not greasy. There is whipped cream instead of butter – I don’t understand. The pumpkin puree is very sweet.”

Jessi: “Be a bit flexible. The pancakes are more like donuts. I think it’s great and plentiful.”

Jörg: “It doesn’t work for me at all. Lump of fat with banana in between. Those aren’t pancakes!”

Already saved $40,000 That’s why Caroline always flies for FREE!

THE CHECK, PLEASE:

Jörg: “55.90 euros – that’s too much. Imagine you are having breakfast here with children. Just because pancakes cost 16 euros, they don’t have to be good.”

Jessi: “Expensive! Breakfast here costs as much as dinner.”

OUR TIP:

“Definitely have a coffee when you’re around the corner – it’s delicious. You can have breakfast here if you want to spend the money and need new food photos for Instagram.”
