Germany in the coal trap: gas is scarce, nuclear power plants shut down

In the 2021 election campaign, things couldn’t go fast enough for the Greens. According to the party’s plan, Germany must have phased out coal by 2030. Everything else is not compatible with the climate goals.

The message: We switch off as soon as possible. And today, two years later? The green coal-fired power plants switch on again! And Germany imports millions of tons of coal from countries whose mines have terrible working conditions.
