Goalkeeper and ARD expert Almuth Schult is pregnant again
What sweet news!
Our national goalkeeper and ARD expert Almuth Schult (31) is pregnant again. Her third child is expected to be born in August. It is also clear that the World Cup next summer in Australia and New Zealand will take place without Schult.
Schult gave birth to twins in April 2020 and was back in goal for VfL Wolfsburg a year later. Even now she is not thinking about the end of her career. “I would like to continue my football career after the pregnancy and childbirth. But of course we have to see how well this fits in with the new challenges in family life,” she told NDR.
In the fall, Schult terminated her contract with US club Angels City FC in Los Angeles, returned to Germany and kept fit in Wolfsburg. In the middle of looking for a club, Schult and her family met a stroke of fate. Her father-in-law died. Schult chose to stay at home and put her career on hold.
