The terrible earthquake in Turkey and Syria in which thousands of people lost their lives.

One of the fatalities: goalkeeper Eyüp Türkaslan († 28) from second division Yeni Malatyaspor. A Fürth professional also mourns the keeper!

BILD reporter in Turkey “The destruction is unbelievable!”

Central defender Oussama Haddadi (31) played with Türkaslan for Malatyaspor last season and wrote on Instagram: “May God have mercy on my brother, may his place be in heaven, may God be patient with his family. My heart breaks at this news. You were an amazing person.”

Fortunately, Fürth’s winter departure Jeremy Dudziak (27/on loan to Hatayspor) was uninjured in the earthquake. During the terrible tremors, Dudziak sought shelter on the club’s premises. Fürth boss Racchid Azzouzi (52) also responded to BILD’s request with relief: “We couldn’t reach him by phone for a long time, then found out indirectly that thank God it’s going well.”

His teammate Christian Atsu (31), who had scored the winning goal against Kasimpasa (1-0) the day before, was even buried under the rubble and only later recovered injured. Sports director Taner Savut (48), on the other hand, is still missing.

Dudziak is scheduled to return to Franconia today. The shamrock naturally offered its help. Azzouzi: “Of course we told him and his advisor that he could train with us. But that all has to be clarified first. Now the first thing to do is for him to process the bad experiences.”
