High damage at Ulm: one injured after overtaking

Herbrechtingen – High damage was caused by an overtaking maneuver on Autobahn 7 near Herbrechtingen (Heidenheim district).

One man was also slightly injured, police said. She estimated the damage on Tuesday at a total of more than 170,000 euros. A 37-year-old driver had overtaken a semitrailer the previous evening and had not paid attention to the following traffic.

His car struck a vehicle in the left lane, then both cars slammed into the trailer truck and the guardrail.

The 40-year-old driver of the approaching car suffered minor injuries. All three vehicles were towed. Flying parts damaged other vehicles.

The A7 was completely blocked in the direction of Ulm for several hours.
