Geordie Greig discussed The Independent’s Afghan pilot campaign during an appearance on LBC on Sunday night (28 May).
Speaking to Rachel Johnson, our editor-in-chief said Rishi Sunak’s response to the campaign thus far has been “hollow” as he called for more support from the government.
Mr Greig suggested that those who put their lives at risk to fight alongside UK and US forces are now being “abandoned”.
“We asked these people, would they fight alongside us? We knew their lives were at risk. And now we go back, we have weasel words,” he said.
