Raid on Duisburg cafés: 18 illegal slot machines seized

Duisburg – Complete success for the Duisburg authorities and the police. At a raid 18 illegal slot machines were seized.

The police, public order office, public prosecutor’s office, tax investigation and customs searched nine restaurants, cafés, an arcade and a kiosk in Hochfeld, Friemersheim, Vierlinden, Hamborn, Röttgersbach and Homberg on Friday night.

“In an amusement arcade on Musfeldstraße, we secured eleven illegal slot machines that had obviously been manipulated,” says a police spokesman.

The city immediately prohibited the arcade from operating and closed it.

“The enforcement agency was able to collect a four-digit amount from two debtors,” said the police.

In a restaurant on Windmühlenstraße, the police checked eleven people who all have connections to the rocker scene. An arrest warrant was issued against a man (29). He was wanted for aggravated robbery and then went straight to the JVA.

Another man was found to have a banned switchblade knife and a four-digit sum of money. In a back room of the restaurant, the police discovered five illegal slot machines.

In total, the police confiscated 18 illegal Daddel vending machines, as well as 1.4 kg of untaxed shisha tobacco and 20 untaxed e-cigarettes. 107 people were checked and then 12 criminal charges and 18 administrative offense charges were filed.
