Seriously wounded in the Ukraine war: How the two dogs became friends

Kranenburg (NRW) – In Ukraine, Bim (2) and Richard (3) experienced hell! Animal rights activist Ralf Seeger (60) saved the fur noses and provided a new, loving home on the Lower Rhine. Today the warhounds are best buddies!

Curious, Bim toddle through the grass. The foster mom Biljana Pjanic (51) took off the silicone prostheses. His sensitive stumps don’t hurt on the soft grass. Animal abusers cut off all four of Bim’s paws, parts of his ears and his tail in Ukraine.

Like a shadow, dachshund mix Richard follows his friend everywhere, bravely dragging his paralyzed hind legs behind him.

“Like Bim, I later took Richard with me on a Ukraine aid mission. The poor puppy got a freezing cold shot in the back. He’s been paralyzed since then,” says Germany’s toughest animal rights activist from the VOX series “Hard Dogs – Ralf Seeger intervenes”.

The dog was saved after a serious open back operation. Animal rights activist Biljana takes care of the disabled dogs, says: “Bim and Richard are very attached to each other, even sleep together in a basket.”

Intensive physiotherapy, a large portion of love and a lot of patience are slowly helping Bim and Richard get back on their feet. Seeger: “Richard had already given up completely. Thanks to his best friend Bim, he now has new courage to live.”

The Kranenburg resident is already planning the next assignment in the Ukraine for March.
