Fulda – Why wasn’t he looking at the traffic in front of him? On the A 7 in East Hesse, a Škoda driver (52) crashed into a van from behind and was seriously injured. And the rescuers once again had problems with unreasonable road users.

The accident happened on Tuesday around 9.40 p.m. in the right lane of the Fulda-Kassel motorway. A Ukrainian (49) was driving his Renault van when it hit him from behind.

The Škoda Octavia had hit him in the rear practically unchecked. So violent that the Renault only came to a standstill after a good hundred meters.

The station wagon belonging to the person who caused the accident was so badly deformed by the impact that the doors could no longer be opened. The fire brigade had to open it with heavy hydraulic equipment in order to be able to get the badly injured man out of the wreck and take care of it.

After first aid by the emergency doctor on site, he was taken to the Fulda Clinic by ambulance.

The rescue operation was hampered by thoughtless drivers. An officer from the responsible Petersberg motorway police: “The rescue measures were hampered by the poorly formed rescue lane, a breakdown vehicle in the traffic jam and the fact that road users only accepted the recommended detour when a police patrol diverted the traffic at the Fulda Nord junction. ”
