BAYERN MUNICH boss Julian Nagelsmann received medical attention on the touchline after losing his voice during their clash with Bayer Leverkusen.

The German champions comfortably eased to a 4-0 win in the Bundesliga on Friday night.

But it was on the sideline where the most bizarre incident of the evening took place.

In the 35th minute of the match, Bayern manager Nagelsmann lost his voice.

And, according to Bild, the team doctor was forced to come off the bench and hand the manager some throat pills.

They appeared to have the desired impact as two minutes later Nagelsmann loudly celebrated Bayern’s third goal of the game.

Strangely, this is not the first time Nagelsmann has experienced problems with his voice.

Speaking back in 2019 about suffering the same fate during a match between RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim, he said: “Three or four years ago I went to a speech therapist in Heidelberg because of a thickening of the edges of the vocal cords.

“There I had to do a lot of breathing exercises and we also sang. Apparently that helped a lot.”

Bayern have struggled to get going in the Bundesliga so far this season.

But the win over Leverkusen does take them up to second in the table, two points behind Union Berlin ahead of today’s action.

Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala and Sadio Mane all hit the back of the net in the first half as Bayern coasted to victory.

And Thomas Muller added a fourth in the second half to clinch their fourth league win from eight matches.
