EDDIE HOWE celebrated penning a new long-term deal with Newcastle by guiding his side to victory over newly promoted Nottingham Forest.

After dominating the first half without scoring, a thunderbolt from Fabian Schar after the break finally broke the deadlock.

Picking the ball up outside the box, the visitors failed to close the defender down.

And the Swiss centre-back made Forest pay, crashing a superb effort into the top corner from the edge of the area.
