What happens to Prem teams in Europe if West Ham win Conference League?

WEST HAM have ended their 58-year European trophy drought and secured a place in the Europa League next season after beating Fiorentina in the Conference League final.

But what does that mean for teams in the Premier League who have already qualified?

Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle all secured their spot in the Champions League.

Liverpool, Brighton and West Ham will battle in the Europa League, while Aston Villa is set to feature in the Conference League.

However, fans are confused about whether West Ham winning the mouthwatering final tonight would see one of the above teams lose their place.

And SunSport has the answers.

Hammers WIN first European trophy in 58 years after epic final
Fans say 'we know how this ends' after West Ham's celebration plans are LEAKED

What happens if West Ham win?

West automatically qualify for the Europa League after beating Fiorentina in the final tonight.

But the rest of the teams can breathe a sigh of relief as it just means there will be eight English teams in Europe.

And this is the maximum number of teams that can feature in European competitions from England.

How many Premier League teams can usually qualify for Europe?

The top four in the Premier League qualify for the Champions League group stages.

Fifth place and the FA Cup winners qualify for the Europa League group stages.

While Carabao Cup winners qualify for the Europa Conference League playoffs.

However as Manchester City won the FA Cup and finished in the top four, their Europa spot goes to the next team who finished outside a European spot – sixth place.

And it is the same for Manchester United who won the Carabao Cup and finished in the top four. The Red Devils’ Conference League spot got passed down to seventh.
