Prior to his time at Google, Karetsos had executive roles at TD Ameritrade, SunTrust, Vanguard, and Goldman Sachs. Remitly, based in Seattle, reported a revenue of $269.1 million in its most recent quarter, showing a 32% year-over-year increase. In another key move in the tech industry, Saurabh Tiwary, a longtime executive at Microsoft, has joined Google as vice president and general manager of Cloud AI. Tiwary brings with him 11 years of experience at Microsoft, where he most recently held a corporate vice president position leading a team responsible for building Microsoft’s Copilot products and services. Prior to his time at Microsoft, Tiwary had worked at Google as a software engineer from 2010-2013. These high-profile moves signify a shifting landscape in the Pacific Northwest tech ecosystem.

Craig Saunders, a former director at Amazon, has joined London-based Builder.ai as vice president of artificial intelligence. Earlier this year, Vahé Torossian, a former Microsoft leader, was hired as president and chief partner officer at Builder.ai. Sam Cook, a former design leader at Seattle startup Fixie.ai, has made a move to Microsoft as a principal product design manager. Furthermore, Rolanda Fu and Rasik Parikh have joined Madrona as investors, bringing their expertise from previous roles at EY-Parthenon and Cascadia Capital, respectively.

Todd Ludwig has been appointed as executive vice president for sales at Valid8 Financial, following stints at DataVisor, Shape Security, IBM, HP Enterprise, and Akamai. Meanwhile, Regan Zeebuyth has joined Seattle startup Syndio as vice president of communications, leveraging her previous experience at Amazon and Starbucks. In conclusion, the tech industry in the Pacific Northwest is witnessing significant personnel changes and talent acquisitions across various companies and startups. These moves indicate a dynamic environment where experienced professionals are making strategic transitions to further enhance innovation and growth in the technology sector. With leaders like Spyro Karetsos, Saurabh Tiwary, and others joining key organizations in the region, the future looks promising for continued advancements in technology and cloud services.
