The Mazda3, Often Overlooked, will be More Affordable in 2025

Mazda has announced that the 2025 Mazda3 is now more affordable compared to the previous year’s model. The sedan has received a price cut, with the entry-level S trim being added back for the hatchback, making both cars more accessible to consumers. The 2025 Mazda3 2.5 S sedan now starts at $25,135, which is $220 less than before. The hatchback’s 2.5 S model is now the starting point for the five-door model and is $740 cheaper than the entry-level 2024 hatchback, with a price of $26,135. The rest of the hatchback lineup is $300 more expensive than before.

For the sedan, prices have increased for the 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Carbon Edition, 2.5 Carbon Turbo, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus trims, while the S Select Sport price remains unchanged for 2025. The standard engine for the 2.5 S is Mazda’s naturally aspirated Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces 191 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. It is available with a six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox. The Mazda3 also offers a Skyactiv-G 2.5 Turbo engine that generates 250 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque when running on 93 octane fuel, or 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on 87. The automatic transmission is the only gearbox available with the turbo engine, and all-wheel drive is standard.

New features for the 2025 Mazda3 include Alexa Built-In on the S Select Sport packages and above, allowing drivers to control various functions such as the car’s radio, climate controls, and smart home devices. Mazda also offers Mazda Online Navigation, capable of receiving over-the-air updates. While the 2025 Mazda3 has seen a decrease in its starting price compared to the previous year, this comes after substantial price increases for the 2024 model. In 2023, the sedan and hatch started at $23,615 and $24,615, respectively, including a $1,065 destination fee that has also increased. Additionally, Mazda provides pricing for special exterior paint colors, with some options costing extra.

Overall, the 2025 Mazda3 offers more affordable options for consumers with the price cuts on the sedan and hatchback models. The addition of the entry-level S trim for the hatchback further enhances the accessibility of these vehicles. With a range of engine options and available features such as Alexa Built-In and Mazda Online Navigation, the 2025 Mazda3 provides a well-rounded driving experience. While there have been some price increases for certain trims, the overall pricing structure makes the Mazda3 a compelling choice in the compact car segment. As Mazda continues to innovate and enhance its lineup, the 2025 Mazda3 stands out as a budget-friendly yet feature-packed option for consumers in the market for a stylish and reliable vehicle.
