The Mini Cooper Five-Door offers 201 HP and increased legroom

The new Mini Cooper five-door model has been revealed, following the launch of the three-door versions. The five-door model offers a slightly more practical option with two engine choices. The base Cooper C comes with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine producing 154 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. The Cooper S, on the other hand, features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generating 201 hp and 221 pound-feet of torque. Despite the similar power outputs to the three-door model, the additional doors make the five-door model slightly slower, with the base model going from 0-62 mph in 8.0 seconds and the S model in 6.8 seconds.

The five-door Mini Cooper features a longer wheelbase and extended body to accommodate the extra doors. This results in increased cargo space of 32.6 cubic feet with the rear seats folded, compared to 28.2 cubic feet in the three-door model. The styling remains consistent with the rest of the Mini lineup, with smoother fascias and standard LED lights. The four trim levels available include the JCW trim, which adds sporty enhancements like diffusers and black trim. Inside, the minimalist design is complemented by a 9.4-inch center display and Mini Experience Modes that allow for customization of lighting and display options. Parking Assistant Plus with external cameras and sensors assists in maneuvering the larger Mini in tight spaces.

The five-door Mini Cooper is currently offered in Europe, with details for the North American version yet to be announced. Pricing and additional information are expected to be released at a later date. The new model offers a blend of practicality and style, with the same fresh design elements as the three-door version. Whether you opt for the base Cooper C or the more powerful Cooper S, the five-door Mini provides a fun and stylish driving experience with added space for passengers and cargo. Stay tuned for more updates on the North American release of the five-door Mini Cooper.
