Subaru enthusiasts were disappointed to learn that the automaker would not be producing an STI version of the current WRX, but they have introduced the WRX tS as a consolation prize. The WRX tS features performance upgrades that set it apart from the standard WRX models, such as electronically controlled dampers, adjustable driving modes, and high-performance Brembo brakes. The exterior design of the WRX tS closely resembles that of the STI, with signature blue paint, red WRX badge, and bronze-painted upgraded brakes. The engine remains the same as the standard WRX, with a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder producing 271 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

In addition to the performance upgrades, the WRX tS also features a revamped interior with a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.6-inch center touchscreen. The seats are sporty Recaro buckets adorned with black faux suede and blue accents, along with WRX tS logos on the headrests. The vehicle also includes Subaru’s EyeSight Safety Technology suite, which features adaptive cruise control and lane departure warnings. While Subaru has not announced the price of the WRX tS, they have confirmed that it will be replacing the WRX TR model and will be available for purchase early in 2025.

Overall, the WRX tS offers a combination of visual enhancements, performance upgrades, and advanced safety features that set it apart from the standard WRX models. While it may not be a true STI successor, it aims to satisfy Subaru fans with its sporty design and improved driving dynamics. Subaru enthusiasts are likely to be excited about the release of the WRX tS and eager to see how it performs on the road. With its combination of style, performance, and safety technology, the WRX tS is sure to appeal to a wide range of buyers looking for a sporty and reliable vehicle.
