This Porsche 911 Generates 625 Horsepower with a Genuine F1 Engine

Lanzante has unveiled a new creation called the TAG Championship, a unique British-built restomod of the Porsche 930 Turbo. This new version is lighter and more powerful than its predecessor, with only three examples being built to represent McLaren’s three Formula 1 wins in the 1980s. The cars will be revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and will feature the twin-turbocharged 1.5-liter V-6 TAG TTE P01 Formula 1 engine, which has been re-engineered and built by Cosworth. The engine now produces 625 horsepower and can rev up to 10,250 rpm, enabling the 911 to reach speeds of up to 200 miles per hour. The power is sent to the wheels via a modified 993-generation six-speed manual transmission with bespoke ratios.

To further enhance performance, Lanzante has incorporated upgrades such as lightweight titanium turbochargers, a new airbox, improved cooling, and an upgraded exhaust system. Carbon-ceramic brakes with four-piston calipers have been added for superior stopping power, along with 18-inch magnesium and carbon wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 rubber. The use of carbon fiber for the hood, doors, wings, roofs, bumpers, and front splitter has helped reduce the weight of the car to 2,028 pounds, almost 1,000 pounds lighter than the original donor car. The interior has also been stripped down to save weight, with features such as electric mirrors and windows removed. However, a lightweight climate control system has been installed, along with lightweight Recaro seats with six-point harnesses for passengers.

While the exact price of the TAG Championship has not been revealed, it is expected to be quite high given the bespoke nature of the vehicle and the use of an irreplaceable engine. Despite the high cost, the car offers a unique combination of power, performance, and luxury, making it a sought-after collector’s item for car enthusiasts. With only three examples being produced, each representing a significant moment in McLaren’s Formula 1 history, the TAG Championship is sure to be a standout at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Lanzante’s attention to detail and commitment to quality are evident in every aspect of the vehicle, from the upgraded engine to the lightweight components used in the build. For those looking for a truly special and exclusive driving experience, the Lanzante TAG Championship is a must-have addition to any collection.
