Fox News has recently announced that the NTT IndyCar Series will be exclusively broadcast on their network for the 2025 season, including the iconic Indianapolis 500 race. This decision to have all 17 races on FOX was made to ensure consistency and maximize the audience for the popular open-wheel racing series. The move from NBC, which currently splits the IndyCar package among different platforms, was influenced by the appeal of having all races on network television.

IndyCar CEO Miles emphasized the strategic advantage of having 19 network television windows for the season, providing fans with a clear and easily accessible viewing experience. This exclusive partnership with FOX aligns with the series’ goal of expanding its fan base and audience. Additionally, the races will be accessible to viewers who prefer to stream through the FOX Sports App, further enhancing the visibility of the series.

FOX Sports CEO Eric Shanks highlighted the importance of broadcast television in reaching the widest range of audiences, regardless of demographics or age. The network also holds the rights to the first 14 events of the NASCAR schedule, creating a synergy between the two motorsports series. Shanks emphasized the positive impact of aligning the schedules of IndyCar and NASCAR, creating a halo effect that benefits both series by attracting shared audiences.

While specific start times for the 2025 IndyCar races and the NASCAR schedule have not been announced yet, FOX Sports is working closely with both series to maximize audience potential. It was noted that the length of the deal for the IndyCar broadcast rights is multiyear, although the exact duration was not disclosed. Practice and qualifying sessions for all races will be on other FOX Sports channels, with the majority of the INDY NXT development series races also televised on FS1 or FS2.

The decision to move the entire IndyCar season to FOX marks the second television package negotiated under Roger Penske’s ownership of the series. FOX Sports CEO Shanks expressed his excitement about this partnership, recognizing the prestige of IndyCar and the Indianapolis 500 as a significant aspect of American sports. With the growing momentum of the series and continued focus on enhancing the viewing experience for fans, this exclusive broadcast agreement with FOX is expected to elevate the profile of the NTT IndyCar Series.
