Bösel’s car was broken into near his apartment in Freyburg (Saxony-Anhalt) – and the WBA world champion belt was stolen! The theft happened on Monday night.

“The perpetrator or perpetrators smashed a side window on the car and stole a suitcase from the vehicle,” said a police spokesman. Inside was the belt, which cost around $3,500 and is given to world champions as an award for winning the title.

“I went for a friend’s 50th birthday weekend. I had the belt with me because experience has shown that people like to be photographed with it for fun. But it wasn’t visible from the outside, it was in the suitcase,” Bösel explained to BILD.

The police are investigating a particularly serious case of theft. The spokesman: “Tracks were secured and witnesses questioned.”
