Houston Police identify suspect in the killing of attorney at McDonald’s
Houston police are currently searching for Anthony Martin Landry, a 57-year-old man wanted for the murder of 46-year-old attorney Jeffrey Limmer. The shooting took place at a McDonald’s on May 4, with Limmer being shot multiple times after attempting to de-escalate a situation between a customer and employees. Landry allegedly retrieved a gun from his car and shot Limmer before fleeing the scene in a blue Ford pickup truck. Despite the police identifying Landry as the suspect, he remains at large as of early Friday morning.
Limmer’s family released a statement expressing relief that a suspect had been identified and urging for Landry’s prompt apprehension. They also thanked the community for their support and requested privacy as they grieve Limmer’s loss. Limmer, a practicing attorney at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP, was well-regarded within the Houston legal community. His family’s hope is for justice to be served swiftly while emphasizing the safety of law enforcement involved in the search for Landry.
The Houston Police Department has offered a reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to Landry’s arrest. They have released a previous booking photo of Landry in hopes of someone being able to identify him. The department has urged anyone with tips on Landry’s whereabouts to contact the HPD’s Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers. The community’s cooperation in providing information could play a crucial role in aiding law enforcement efforts to bring Landry to justice for Limmer’s tragic death.
The incident at the McDonald’s on May 4 has raised concerns about public safety in Houston, with the Houston Police Union warning that murder suspects like Landry are “walking the streets.” The violent nature of the crime underscores the need for swift action in identifying and apprehending Landry to prevent further harm. The case has also highlighted the risks faced by professionals like Limmer who work in challenging environments where conflict can escalate quickly, leading to tragic outcomes.
The impact of Limmer’s death has reverberated throughout the legal community in Houston, as colleagues remember him as a dedicated attorney and valued member of the firm. The senseless nature of the crime has left many in shock and mourning, with the hope that justice will be served for Limmer and his loved ones. The developments in the case have also served as a reminder of the dangers faced by those who work in public-facing roles, emphasizing the need for vigilance and safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
As the search for Landry continues, the community’s support and cooperation are crucial in assisting law enforcement efforts to locate and apprehend him. The collaboration between the public and authorities will be essential in bringing closure to Limmer’s family and ensuring that justice is served for the senseless act of violence that took his life. The resolve to hold those responsible accountable for their actions underscores the commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that individuals like Landry face the consequences of their violent actions.
