WWE in chaos with RAW having record low TV viewing figures for key demographic

WWE’s struggles are reportedly continuing after Monday Night Raw drew its lowest viewing figures for the key demographic.

The emergence of rival company All Elite Wrestling over the past three years has torn the sports entertainment fan base with fierce arguments over which is the better product.

Vince McMahon's WWE continues to feel the pressure from rival company AEW

However, despite Vince McMahon’s company producing it’s go home edition of Raw ahead of Thursday’s Crown Jewel pay-per-view, it still failed to draw in the key age group sought after.

According to Nielsen via Showbuzz Daily, Raw drew an average of 1.593 million viewers on the USA Network.

There was some good news with that figure as it meant the overall viewership was up 0.7 per cent from last week’s 1.582m viewers.

The first hour of this week’s episode drew 1.577m viewers with the second getting 1.624m and the third and final one slipping back to 1.577m.

But it only drew a 0.39, around 510,000 viewers, rating in the key 18-49 age demographic of viewers.

The worrying news for McMahon and his fellow WWE bosses is that this meant Monday’s Raw drew the seventh-lowest audience in the show’s history.

It may have been up slightly from last week, but the key 18-49 demo that most advertisers look for was way down.

It had slipped 7.14 per cent from the previous week – making it the lowest in Raw’s history.

The show was competing with ESPN’s NFL Monday Night Football game between the Bills and the Titans, which was watched by 12.528m viewers.

There was also competition from Major League Baseball on the FS1 channel, which 3.540m viewers tuned in to.
