RB Leipzig: Willi Orban with a motivational speech before the cup final

Secluded in the training center on Cottaweg, the Bulls start the cup final week on Tuesday. Instead of at least once in front of fans, as usual, RB Leipzig trains secretly until they leave for Berlin.

Reason: No distractions before the title defense mission – not even through Rumors about a possible change from Boss Max Eberl (49) to Bayern.

The closing ranks with their own supporters was there before the final on Saturday (8 p.m.) against Frankfurt!

After the 4: 2 league conclusion against Schalke, Willi Orban (30) grabbed the stadium microphone. His thanks for the support on the way to a new home record (there have never been 13 wins for RB) was followed by a motivational speech.

The defense chief: “Now let’s all go back to Berlin together, defend the cup and bring it to Leipzig.”

ORBAN HEATS THE FANS!

Six competitive wins in a row and the experiences of the last year ensure a lot of self-confidence. “We know what it feels like to win in Berlin and we want to do it again,” said fellow defender Lukas Klostermann (26).

Leipzig also relies on routine!

No wonder Marco Rose (46) is keeping his routines these days. The RB coach: “We will not reinvent football. I don’t think we can still work out big things. We know what we can do.”

And his team should show that again against Eintracht at the end…

Without Nkunku, the Bulls would only be eighth

Christopher Nkunku (25) also gave full throttle in added time against Schalke. Leipzig’s superstar waved his arms and demanded a wide tee shot from goalkeeper Örjan Nyland (32). He delivered and Nkunku lupft his 16th goal of the season for the common Scorer Cannon with Bremen’s Niclas Füllkrug (30).

The Frenchman is back in top form just in time for the cup final. But at the same time he shows RB how big the gap will be after his move to Chelsea in the summer.

The balance: Although Nkunku could only play 25 league games due to his lateral ligament injury, he was involved in 22 of the Bulls’ 64 goals. Means: without him would have RB Leipzig 18 points fewer and would only be eighth!

Sports manager Max Eberl (49), who has been looking for a successor for the national player for months, remains relaxed. When asked about the departure, which has still not been officially announced, he says: “If that were the case, we are not afraid that we will find good players again.”
