Cristiano Ronaldo iconic No7 shirt handed to NEW Portugal ace for the first time

CRISTIANO RONALDO’S legendary No7 jersey was worn by someone else for the first time since 2007.

Ronaldo has been donning the iconic shirt number throughout the vast majority of his 22-year career across club and international football.

However, history was made on Thursday during Portugal’s friendly match against Sweden at the Estadio Dom Afonso Henriques.

CR7 was not part of Roberto Martinez’s squad as he is on holiday with his family in Saudi Arabia to rest and prevent injuries ahead of Euro 2024.

Therefore, during the Al-Nassr superstar’s absence, his popular shirt number went to Braga star Bruma.

The winger has impressed this season with eight goals and six assists in 30 appearances across all competitions.

And the new shirt number brought the 29-year-old fortune as he helped Portugal win 5-2.

Bruma came on as a second-half substitute as he replaced Rafael Leao.

And the Portuguese ace hit the back of the net in the 57th minute following an assist from Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.

Fernandes also made it to the scoresheet as did Manchester City ace Matheus Nunes.
